The thought was: if you want to do it, do it right! I decided to allow professionals to show me the way to what I wanted to do. Thus, I started my research to find the best fit for me. Finding a publishing certificate course was not the most challenging thing. Many came up when I typed publishing course in the Google search bar.
I used the IAP College certificate course for Book Publisher www.iapcollege.com. It is a six-week course which I managed to finish in three weeks. The fact that it is self-paced helped a lot. There were six sections or units of the course and a lot of reading and information. The only thing I did not like about it was that some of the links they provided were outdated or not. The communication on the platform was excellent. Their support staff was accommodating at all times.
At the end of the course, I felt overwhelmed with all the information I had gathered. I told myself to take a step at a time; nothing rushed me. Well, besides the fact that I need my book, at least, out before the end of May so I can participate in my neighborhood's local author event at Barnes & Noble.Â
Who am I kidding? This is a mountain! But I am determined to climb it to the top!
