Creating a website PART 2

Creating a website PART 2

Continued from: Creating a website part 1
  • Create engaging content: Develop compelling and informative content for your website, including book descriptions, author biographies, blog articles, and any additional relevant information. Use high-quality images and engaging writing to captivate your audience. This most likely will be working progress for you as it is for me. Every week I add a blog which I then share on Social Media. I only have one book- translated into two languages right now, but I believe when the second book comes on it will be much better.
  • Implement an e-commerce solution: Set up an online store to sell books directly from your website. Choose an e-commerce platform like WooCommerce (if using WordPress) or Shopify, and configure it to handle product listings, inventory management, secure payment processing, and order fulfillment. I used Shopify. It is great and simple. I created and gave 3 months at $1 so gives me time to learn. I created the e-commerce myself. That is the emails that will go out to thank people and to inform about new releases.
  • Set up secure payment gateways: Integrate popular and trusted payment gateways like PayPal, Stripe, or Authorize.net to provide customers with secure payment options. I did all this through Shopify.
  • Optimize for search engines: Implement basic SEO strategies, such as using relevant keywords, meta tags, and optimized URLs, to improve your website's visibility in search engine results. Regularly update and add fresh content to keep your website relevant and engaging. (This I had no idea about so I used a freelancer. Did they do a good job? I am still wondering that. I am not familiar with SEO strategies at all. So, this will be making working progress as well.
  • Incorporate social media integration: Integrate social media buttons and widgets to encourage visitors to share your content and follow your social media accounts. This will help increase brand awareness and reach a wider audience. (This is another topic that needs a whole chapter. If you are not a social media expert it might be wise to hire someone to create your social media presence. I am not an expert but neither a novice. I am somewhere in between, in another post I will provide best tips and practices)
  • Implement analytics and tracking: Set up website analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to monitor your website's performance, track visitor behavior, and gain insights to make data-driven decisions for improving your website.
  • Test and optimize: Conduct thorough testing to ensure all website features, including e-commerce functionality, work properly. Optimize your website's loading speed and usability to provide a seamless browsing experience for your visitors.
  • Launch your website: Once you're satisfied with your website's design and functionality, make it live by publishing it to your chosen hosting provider. Test again after launching to ensure everything is working as expected.
  • Market and promote your website: Implement online marketing strategies like content marketing, social media marketing, email marketing, and search engine marketing to drive traffic to your website and attract potential customers.

Remember to regularly update your website with new book releases, blog posts, and promotions to keep visitors engaged and encourage repeat visits. Monitor your website's performance and make adjustments as needed to meet your business goals.
